Job summary

Interfor is hiring an Industrial Millwright Trainee in Eatonton, GA. You will work closely with experienced millwrights to learn how to safely install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems that keep the sawmill running efficiently.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a two-year technical degree related to industrial systems or maintenance.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Interest in developing a career as an industrial millwright.
Willingness to learn mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance.

Responsibilities

Assist experienced millwrights with repairs, maintenance, and improvements.
Read and interpret equipment drawings, blueprints, and manuals.
Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain conveyors, bearings, belts, gears, and mill equipment.
Learn alignment, installation, and adjustment of mechanical components.
Follow safety procedures including lockout/tagout before work.
Operate mill equipment for test runs after repairs as required.
Document work performed, parts used, and time required.
Maintain tools and work areas in a clean, safe condition.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
