Austin Industrial is seeking a skilled Millwright Mechanic to maintain and repair industrial machinery, boilers, air compressors, and related equipment in Florence, SC. The role requires reading blueprints, performing precision alignments, and documenting work in CMMS systems.

The position demands a high school diploma or GED with technical training, plus millwright or welding certifications, and willingness to work overtime or on-call while following safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred.
• Minimum relevant industrial mechanical or millwright experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical documents.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments.

Responsibilities

• Install, align, dismantle, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, compressors, mixers, and rotating equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical failures using inspection tools and troubleshooting techniques.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and work orders.
• Perform precision alignments including laser and dial indicator alignment.
• Conduct equipment inspections and identify reliability improvements.
• Replace bearings, seals, belts, chains, couplings, and mechanical components.
• Perform rigging and equipment movement using hoists, cranes, and lifting devices.
• Assist with equipment installations, shutdowns, and capital improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and work records.
• Follow all plant safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and hot work requirements.
