Job summary

Austin Industrial in Florence, SC is seeking a Millwright Mechanic to maintain, repair and operate machinery including boilers, air compressors, and other power generators. You will read drawings, perform precision alignments, and document maintenance activities.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance on rotating equipment, equipment inspections, and assisting with installations and capital projects. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work overtime are required for this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred.
• Minimum relevant industrial mechanical or millwright experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical documents.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, align, dismantle, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and equipment.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, compressors, mixers, and rotating equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical failures using inspection tools and troubleshooting techniques.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and work orders.
• Perform precision alignments including laser and dial indicator alignment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and work records.
• Follow all plant safety procedures including LOTO and hot work requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.
