Job summary

Robinson Construction is seeking a Journeyman Millwright to join our design-build team. The role involves reading blueprints, dismantling and moving machinery, assembling components, and setting foundations for heavy equipment at manufacturing facilities across the United States.

You will work with hand and power tools, operate basic machine tools when needed, and contribute to safe, efficient installations. Travel and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 3+ years journeyman millwright experience.
• Industrial machine license (forklift) preferred.
• OSHA 10 or MSHA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints and schematics to determine work procedures.
• Dismantles machinery or equipment using hand tools.
• Moves machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
• Assembles and installs equipment like shafting, conveyors, and tram rails.
• Constructs foundations for machines using wood, cement, and steel.
• Aligns and positions machines using hoists, jacks, tools, lasers, and plumb bobs.
• Assembles machinery and bolts, welds, rivets, or fastens to foundations.
• May operate engine lathe or milling machine to grind parts.
• Repairs and lubricates machinery and equipment.
• Selects cables, ropes,chains, and pulleys for loads.
• Attaches load with grappling devices to crane hook.
• Sets up and rigs hoisting equipment.
• Fosters a safe workplace and follows safety policies.
• May perform other duties as needed.
