Robinson Construction is seeking a Millwright - Equipment Erection Foreman to lead a crew in installing, maintaining, upgrading, dismantling, and fabricating machinery per layout plans for heavy industrial projects.

You will supervise trades, read blueprints, move equipment with hoists and trucks, and perform assembly and installation using hand and power tools. Mentoring others and ensuring safety are essential aspects of the role.

  • Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
  • Assemble and install equipment using hand tools and power tools.
  • Assemble machinery and bolts, weld, rivet, or fasten them to foundations.
  • Dismantle machinery using hand tools.
  • Repair and lubricate machinery and equipment.
  • Attach loads with grappling devices to crane hooks.
  • Set up braces and rigs for hoisting equipment.
  • Complete daily logs and timekeeping in Procore.
  • Provide training on Millwright duties as needed.
  • Perform Millwright work in addition to Foreman duties.

Job description

A Millwright - Equipment Erection Foreman is responsible for leading a crew to successfully install, maintain, upgrade, dismantle, and fabricate machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings for a Heavy Industrial Contractor.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Direct and supervise the work of a crew of one or more trades
  • Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
  • Move machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks
  • Assemble and install equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails, using hand tools and power tools
  • Assemble machinery and bolts, weld, rivet, or otherwise fasten them to foundation or other structures, using hand tools and power tools
  • Dismantle machinery or equipment, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools
  • Repair and lubricate machinery and equipment
  • Select cables, ropes, chains, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves, according to weight and size of load to be moved
  • Attach load with grappling devices, such as loops, wires, ropes, and chains, to crane hook
  • Set up braces, and rigs hoisting equipment, using hand tools and power wrenches
  • Takes personal responsibility for fostering a safe workplace by following safety policies and procedures
  • May perform a variety of duties including those of other positions, and train others in Millwright job duties
  • Complete a daily log, track time in electronic timekeeping system, and complete and upload any required job specific reporting to Procore
  • Complete periodic employee evaluations in Site Docs
  • Perform work of a Millwright in addition to Foreman duties
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Skilled in the standard use of tools and equipment of the profession
  • Ability to work successfully as a team and independently with moderate supervision
  • Ability to understand and follow directions,communicate effectively in both oral and written form
  • Ability to visualize a layout by looking at plans and prints as well ascomprehend and trouble-shoot mechanical systems
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Coordinate eye-hand movements with control and precision
  • Use hands and fingers fully; reach for, manipulate and feel objects; stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
  • Climb and maintain body balance on ladders, scaffolds, or high structures; and see and hear well (either naturally or with correction)
  • Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Stoop, lay, bend or squat for long periods of time
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • May be exposed to fumes, dust or other airborne particles andloud noises and hazardous chemicals
  • Position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and vibrating machinery
  • May be exposed to extreme outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity or cold and wet conditions
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
  • Some overtime, shiftwork, weekends, and holidays may be required
REQUIRED TOOLS:

Must possess and bring hand tools to each job site such as:

Squares, Levels, Hammers, Pry Bar, Plumb Bob, Wrenches, Allen Keys, Socket Wrenches, Pliers, Files, Trowels, Snips, Chisels, Pipe Wrenches, Clams, Punches and Reamers.
