Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking an Industrial Millwright Mechanic to support aerospace manufacturing operations in Michigan. You’ll be the go-to mechanical expert who keeps production moving, from aligning belts and sheaves to pipefitting, welding, or fabricating brackets to get a machine back online.

You’ll diagnose issues across hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems—then repair, rebuild, and verify proper operation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Eight years of millwright/machine repair experience or journeyman status.
• Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical maintenance and repair of production equipment.
• Pipefitting and welding for equipment installation and modification.
• Light fabrication to support fixes and improvements.
• Alignment of belts, sheaves, and rotating components.
• Troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems; repair and verification of operation.
• Support for CNC machine installation and commissioning.
