Job summary
Ox Paperboard Illinois, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support the paper mill’s Production department, ensuring safety, minimizing downtime and performing repairs, installations and preventive maintenance on equipment.
Schedule is Monday–Friday 6:30am–2:30pm with overtime as needed. The plant operates 24/7; maintenance staff rotate on-call weekly. Candidates should read mechanical and electrical prints; welding and fabrication may be required.
Qualifications
- Maintain, repair and install plant equipment.
- Troubleshoot motors, MCCs, AC/DC circuits; test fuses and wiring.
- Follow safety policies and perform preventive maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair and install all equipment needed to keep the mill running.
- Troubleshoot motors, MCCs, electrical circuits and test components.
- Rebuild gearboxes, pumps, and rotation equipment as required.
- Weld and fabricate guards, steps, framework and piping.
- Read mechanical and electrical prints for setups and repairs.
- Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and forklifts.
- Work overtime to finish tasks during shutdowns or peak times.
- Carry out on-call duties on a weekly rotation.
