Job summary

Austin Industries is seeking a skilled Millwright in Decatur, IL to install, repair, replace and dismantle heavy equipment in industrial settings. You will align machines, connect power units, test operations, and perform dismantling for shipment as part of a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• Education – no minimum education requirements.
• Experience – 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience.

Responsibilities

• Replace defective parts of machine or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts.
• Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
• Connect power unit to machines or steam piping to equipment, and test unit to evaluate mechanical operation.
• Repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
• Assemble and install equipment using hand tools and power tools.
• Level bedplate and establish centerline using straightedge, levels, and transit.
• Dismantle machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.
