Job summary

BigFoot Staffing is seeking an Industrial Design Engineer for our client in Portland, OR. You will support the design and production of electric motor-driven industrial air compressors, vacuum pumps, blowers, and air dryer assemblies.

The role emphasizes customer-focused project management, creating detailed CAD drawings and BOMs, and ensuring quality through testing and documentation. Bachelor’s in Engineering (BSME preferred) with FE/EIT desirable; CREO/Windchill experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably BSME.
• FE/EIT certification is desirable.
• Experience in mechanical and electrical system integration.

Responsibilities

• Customer-Focused Project Management: Lead and manage complex projects to meet customer specifications within tight timelines.
• Develop industrial packages that meet precise customer needs.
• Create robust structural designs and select appropriate materials and components.
• Generate detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) and process documentation.
• Provide detailed CAD drawings for mechanical fabrication and assembly.
• Documentation & Testing: Manage piping and instrumentation diagrams and shop test procedures.
• Provide engineering support for production staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Support the sales team through specification reviews, cost estimates, and design consultations.
