Job summary

Mauser Packaging Solutions is seeking an Industrial Mechanic in Texas to maintain and repair manufacturing equipment and facilities. You will troubleshoot electrical-pneumatic controls, perform preventive maintenance, and repair mechanical components to keep production running smoothly.

Responsibilities include equipment monitoring, parts replacement, lubrication, documenting maintenance, and supporting safety programs.

Qualifications

  • Three to Five years of experience in a manufacturing plant as a Maintenance Mechanic or Technician.
  • Experience with high-speed equipment and electric-pneumatic controls.
  • Proficient in MIG and ARC welding.
  • Parts ordering and inventory management.
  • Strong mechanical/electrical knowledge: Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Pumps, Gear Boxes, Power Transmission, Material Handling, Sensors, Transformers, DC/AC circuits.
  • Knowledge of Automation, PLCs, Instrumentation, Robotic applications, Bulk handling systems.
  • Facility maintenance including roofs, plumbing, HVAC, and related plant equipment.
  • Planning, scheduling, and prioritization skills with resource management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all work instructions and safety policies, including use of PPE.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Repair mechanical components and replace parts (bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges, switches).
  • Listen to equipment in operation to locate problems and root causes.
  • Dismantle devices to access defective parts.
  • Lubricate and clean machinery to maintain housekeeping and maintenance standards.
  • Complete work orders to reduce downtime, scrap, and improve plant efficiency.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout and other safety procedures.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and initiate remedial action.
  • Repair equipment to improve availability and reliability for production.
  • Analyze delay codes to identify bottlenecks and optimize schedules.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance records are documented.
  • Assist sourcing and requisitioning of maintenance supplies within budget.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

The Industrial Mechanic performs a variety of skilled activities ranging from troubleshooting, maintenance, modification, repair of manufacturing Industrial equipment and facility.

Responsibilities
  • Follows, without exception, all work instructions and safety policies, including use of all PPE and safety equipment
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery
  • Repairs basic mechanical components and replace parts on machines such as bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges and switches
  • Observes and listens to mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of problem
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
  • Lubricates and cleans machinery and support equipment to maintain housekeeping and preventive maintenance standards within the plant
  • Accomplishes all work orders to maintain safety; reduce downtime; decrease scrap; improve quality production; and improve plant efficiency
  • Follows all safety rules and procedures including Lockout/Tagout program, housekeeping and observes the operations to insure a safe work environment
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures to determine root cause and initiate appropriate remedial action.
  • Repair of equipment to improve availability and reliability for production.
  • Collect and analyze work delay codes to identify challenges to timely completion of scheduled jobs and work with available resources to reduce delays.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance compliance and that repair history is properly documented.
  • Assist in sourcing and requisitioning maintenance supplies, equipment, and services within budgeted guidelines.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Three to five years of work experience in a manufacturing plant as a Maintenance Mechanic or Technician
  • Knowledge and experience working with high-speed equipment and electric-pneumatic controls.
  • Able to use both a MIG welder, and ARC welder.
  • Able to order parts and maintain inventory of all maintenance-related material.
  • Advanced working knowledge on mechanical/electrical systems and components; including, but not limited to, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Pumps, Gear Boxes, Power Transmission, Material Handling, Sensor, Transmitters, DC and AC circuits, Transformers, Power and Energy, Arc Flash
  • Working knowledge and experience on Automation; Industrial Process and Control system; PLC; Measuring Devices; Instrumentation; Robotic Application; Bulk Handling System
  • Working knowledge and experience on Facility Maintenance (Roof, Dock, plumbing) and Plant Equipment (Boiler, Air Compressors, Ammonia/Freon/Glycol Refrigeration, HVAC, Ventilation, Cooling Tower, Condenser, Backflow preventer, Sprinkler and Fire Extinguisher, Wastewater System, ...)
  • Planning, scheduling & assigning ability while well experienced in defining priorities, required skills & resources.
  • Hold practical knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Multitasked in a fast-paced environment with lots of changes in direction bases business requirement.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to work collaboratively and effectively with other departments.
