Job summary

Primetals Technologies USA is seeking experienced maintenance mechanics for our Calvert, AL location. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot machinery, and install/repair components such as conveyors and gear boxes, ensuring uptime and safety.

We value hands-on skills with micrometers, bore gauges, indicators, and hydraulic tools, plus the ability to read diagrams and follow engineering specs. Travel to other sites may be required; safety gear is mandatory.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent.
• Experience level varies; pay rate depends on experience.
• Crane/Forklift – in-house training provided to obtain certification.
• Use of measuring and precision tools (micrometers, bore gauges, indicators) and hydraulic tools.
• Safety equipment required: boots, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves and ear plugs.

Responsibilities

• Ensures operation of machinery by completing preventive maintenance per diagrams, manuals, and specifications; troubleshoots malfunctions.
• Dismantles, moves, assembles, installs, welds or repairs industrial machinery according to plans or verbal instructions.
• Uses hand tools and precision instruments to locate problems and verify tolerances.
• Removes defective parts and reworks or replaces components; manages downtime through preventive maintenance.
• Travel to other locations may be required; other work may be assigned by management.
