Job summary

ACS, a precast concrete manufacturing facility in West Chicago, IL, seeks a General Industrial Mechanic to maintain production equipment and plant systems. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical failures, and support continuous production in a safety-conscious environment.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in industrial maintenance, strong mechanical skills, and experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in heavy manufacturing
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical drive systems
• Basic electrical troubleshooting ability (motors, relays, controls)
• Welding and fabrication experience
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment manuals
• Must be relatively familiar with forklift propane engines, diesel engines, and gasoline engines
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on production equipment
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems
• Maintain mixers, batch plants, conveyors, vibration tables, molds, and curing systems
• Troubleshoot motor, gearbox, bearing, and drive system issues
• Replace worn components including belts, chains, sprockets, seals, and bearings
• Perform welding, cutting, and light fabrication as needed
• Maintain air systems, compressors, and plant utilities
• Respond quickly to production breakdowns to minimize downtime
• Inspect equipment regularly and recommend repairs or upgrades
• Maintain maintenance logs and service documentation
• Follow all safety policies and OSHA standards
