Job summary

Strategic Materials is seeking an Industrial Mechanic II in Sarasota. This role involves performing maintenance on machinery, including conveyors and forklifts. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical experience, particularly with conveyors, and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices.

Qualifications

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Strong experience with mechanical conveyors.
• Electronic experience and PLC knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical work on trough-style conveyors.
• Clean and replace pneumatic valves on sorting machines.
• Conduct PM and repairs on various machinery.
• Install facility machinery as needed.

Industrial Mechanic II – Location: Sarasota

Job Description

Ready to be the backbone that keeps an entire facility running? Join our maintenance team and take charge of the machinery that powers our production.

Your Impact in This Role

• Perform mechanical work including changing bearings, belts, and idler pulleys on trough‑style conveyors
• Clean and replace pneumatic valves on optical sorting machines; maintain organized work area
• Communicate equipment issues with mechanics and supervisors across shifts
• Conduct PM and repairs on bucket elevators, screw conveyors, forklifts, front‑end loaders, and sweepers
• Install facility machinery as needed

What You Bring to the Table

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Electronic experience preferred
• Strong experience with mechanical conveyors
• Glass processing knowledge a plus
• PLC experience a plus
