Job summary

HWX Enterprises is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support a client facility in Flint, Michigan. The role focuses on mechanical maintenance, preventive maintenance, equipment repair, and troubleshooting to keep production running safely and efficiently.

Candidates should be dependable, with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn. Basic electrical troubleshooting and welding/fabrication are a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mechanical maintenance and equipment repair experience.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems and components.
• Basic welding or fabrication skills are a plus.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting helpful but not required.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and facility equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment problems and make necessary repairs.
• Repair and replace bearings, belts, chains, shafts, sprockets, seals, and other mechanical components.
• Troubleshoot and repair motors, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, and related equipment.
• Perform basic maintenance on hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, air lines, and fittings.
• Assist with maintenance and repair of ovens, presses, printing equipment, chillers, air compressors, vacuum systems, and other production equipment.
• Perform basic welding and fabrication as needed.
• Use hand tools, power tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance activities.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and help return equipment to production.
• Document maintenance activities and completed repairs.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area.
