Silgan Containers in Edison, NJ, is seeking an Industrial Mechanic (Machinist) to operate and maintain can lines and precision tooling in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will perform quality checks and diagnose issues with minimal supervision, ensuring product quality and line efficiency.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and a Journeyman Mechanic certification with 2+ years of manufacturing experience, and a strong focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Journeyman Mechanic certification preferred.
• 2+ years as Industrial Mechanic in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain can lines, perform and document quality checks and measurements with supervision only for unusual issues.
• Diagnose mechanical and quality problems, determine repairs, restore equipment to service quickly.
• Handle pallets, tooling, barrels, boxes and cartons as required.
• Record product and equipment inspections to ensure quality production.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area and equipment.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and report hazards.
• Collaborate with supervisors and teams to improve safety, quality, productivity and costs.
