Aufgaben

• Grow, monitor, and execute HDR's Industrial portfolio in Nebraska and Iowa. Partner with business development leaders to diversify work and grow client relationships.
• Participate in strategic planning and develop market positioning within NE/Iowa.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for design, consulting, advisory, owners engineering, asset management, due diligence, and planning services.
• Lead/evaluate direct project pursuits including client relationship development, qualifications, proposals, scopes, budgets, and negotiations.
• Establish external teaming relationships and represent HDR in industry associations and communities.
• Provide leadership and project management to ensure staffing, quality, and delivery; act as Principal-in-Charge or Project Manager as needed.
• Manage day-to-day activities and support staff development and performance.
• Coordinate with Area Business Group Manager and Market Sector Leaders to align resources with workload and marketing efforts.
• Manage financial performance of the Industrial Sector, including profitability, revenue, and receivables.
• Drive client growth locally and regionally, including staff recruitment for business development.
• Coordinate with operations and management to support work sharing and staff mobility.
• Lead and motivate staff to meet growth goals.

HDR is looking for an Industrial Market Sector Leader to provide oversight and direction for the growth of HDR's Industrial program in Nebraska and Iowa. Our Industrial program in Nebraska and Iowa is focused on oil, gas and chemicals, industrial water/wastewater, agribusiness, industrial facilities, air quality, and environmental compliance with the potential to grow in advanced manufacturing and mining. HDR has established offices in Omaha, Lincoln, Des Moines, Ames, Cedar Rapids, and Davenport to support our area’s growing industries.

In the role of Industrial Market Sector Leader, we'll count on you to:

• Being responsible for growing, monitoring, and participating in the execution of HDR's portfolio of Industrial services in Nebraska and Iowa. Partnering with local and regional business development leaders to position ahead of market trends and implement strategies to diversify work and grow client relationships.
• Participating in strategic and tactical planning activities and the development of strategic positioning within Nebraska and Iowa.
• Identifying and pursuing opportunities to deliver a variety of services including but not limited to design, consulting, advisory services, owners engineering, asset management, due diligence, and planning. Clients may include gas utilities, developers, agribusiness, mining and aggregates companies, manufacturing facilities, and private industries.
• Lead and participate in direct project pursuits including targeted client relationship development and premarketing, preparation of qualifications, proposals, interview content, scopes of work, project budgets and contractor negotiations.
• Identifying and establishing effective external teaming relationships to support program growth. This includes developing relationships with industry counterparts and representing HDR in industry associations and as a role model in business and community organizations.
• Providing leadership and project management to ensure projects have appropriate staff and that work is executed in a quality manner. Perform client management, project management and/or technical support activities. Serve as a Principal-in-Charge or Project Manager.
• Manage day-to-day activities and support professional development of staff.
• Responsible for leadership and management for area industrial sector staff.
• Coordinating closely with the Area Business Group Manager, Industrial Market Leaders, and Industrial Business Development Leaders to align resources and technical expertise with workload and marketing efforts to deliver for the clients.
• Manage the financial performance of the Industrial Sector, including profitability, revenue, direct labor and receivables.
• Driving client growth, locally and regionally, including recruiting and hiring staff to support and implement business development and marketing plans.
• Coordinating with local operations, section managers, and business group leadership to support work sharing efforts.
• Leading and motivating the staff to meet growth goals.

Preferred Qualifications

• PE License
• Industrial background within oil gas and chemical, industrial facilities, mining or agribusiness sectors
• Role or engagement in professional organizations in Nebraska/Iowa
• Familiarity with environmental regulations
• Ability to travel to meet with staff in Nebraska and Iowa offices and clients located in the region

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in an engineering, planning or a related field

• Experienced in development and management of strategic marketing programs for planning and/or engineering services
• Experienced in development and management of a wide range of client relationships and specific program and/or project pursuitsExperienced in overall staff development to include recruiting, career path and professional growth
• Experienced with industry associations and maintains a visible profile in the market sector
• Ability to work cooperatively with Regional Market Sector Directors, Market Sector Directors, Business Class Directors, Regional Business Group Directors, Area Business Group Managers, Area Marketing Managers and Area Managers
