Job summary

Commercial Sewing, Inc. in Torrington, CT is seeking an hands-on Manufacturing Engineer/Technician to drive improvements across a multi-SKU, semi-custom production environment.

You will bridge engineering and operations, owning implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization of manufacturing systems to improve throughput, quality, and cost. This role partners with engineering and quality teams on new product introductions, tooling and CAD work, and data-driven process documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years hands-on manufacturing/process engineering experience.
  • Experience in high-mix / configurable production environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and optimize production processes to reduce bottlenecks and costs.
  • Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma).
  • Support day-to-day production by troubleshooting equipment/process issues.
  • Assist in NPI by defining manufacturing processes and work instructions.
  • Create tooling and jig layouts with CAD; contribute to plant layouts.
  • Document processes, SOPs, and track performance data.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and R&D.
