Job summary

MPI is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive process improvements, support new product introductions and boost operational efficiency in a high‑volume production environment in Springfield, Massachusetts.

You will collaborate with a cross‑functional team, lead root cause analyses, optimize tooling and equipment, and contribute to safety and continuous improvement initiatives, with hands‑on involvement in automation and capital projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 1-5 years of manufacturing or engineering experience.
• CAD proficiency.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and influence stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
• Hands-on approach with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, improve quality and increase manufacturing efficiency.
• Analyze production processes and recommend enhancements to manufacturing methods and controls.
• Monitor manufacturing equipment performance and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
• Identify and promote workplace safety improvements and risk reduction opportunities.
• Support capacity planning, capital investment projects and return‑on‑investment analysis.
• Conduct time studies and support production planning initiatives.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of production controls, operating procedures, quality systems and employee training programs.
• Coordinate and support new product introductions and manufacturing launches.
• Design, develop, evaluate and justify tooling, machinery and equipment improvements.
• Participate in cross‑functional teams representing manufacturing operations.
• Support assembly activities and provide technical expertise relating to engineering specifications and manufacturing requirements.
