Job summary

Benchmade Knife Company, Inc. seeks an Industrial Manufacturing Engineer II to collaborate with operations, develop and maintain value stream maps, and define future-state processes for optimized performance.

You will drive OEE metrics and partner with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Design Engineering, and labs to stabilize manufacturing health. You will apply Lean techniques and lead project initiatives that reduce variability and optimize process flows while communicating updates to

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering or related field; 3–4 years of hands-on industrial/manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience in milling, grinding, vibratory finishing, laser cutting, and assembly preferred.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving abilities with root-cause focus.
  • Lean manufacturing background preferred.
  • Advanced MS Office skills; CREO experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a key member of a value stream engineering team to apply sound problem-solving techniques to solve manufacturing and/or material-related issues.
  • Lead technical teams through complex problem-solving activities.
  • Utilize statistical-based tools (e.g., design of experiments) to gather and analyze data.
  • Organize tests (DOE) to isolate and control process variables.
  • Understand and identify key input variables, collect and analyze data, and implement control measures to reduce variability.
  • Drive to root cause analysis for complex issues.
  • Lead cost-reduction efforts using Lean techniques (SMED, fixture design/optimization, tool life studies, process flow, SPC).
  • Engage team members to gain buy-in and perspective.
  • Interface with QMS, CAD, and ERP to gather info and create routes & BOMs.
