Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. in Clinton, IA is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform preventive and corrective maintenance in the rendering plant under supervision. The role includes assisting with installation of new equipment and supporting special fabrication projects.

You will diagnose and repair equipment, replace motors, rebuild gear boxes, perform welds, and conduct daily lubrication. The job requires lifting up to 100 lbs, nights/weekends, and occasional travel to other plants as needed.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience with rendering or similar equipment.
• Experience in welding and piping.
• Vocational school training preferred.
• Experience operating a forklift preferred.
• Basic knowledge of general maintenance and equipment operations.
• Welding proficiency in MIG and Stick as well as vertical and overhead preferred.
• Ability to diagnose and repair control circuits and VFD installation preferred.
• General mechanical aptitude; able to diagnose and repair problems with motors and other equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation of new equipment and support special fabrication projects.
• Perform machine repair and installation tasks (motors, gear boxes, piping, pumps, seals).
• Conduct daily greasing and oiling of plant equipment.
• Diagnose and replace equipment parts with minimal direction.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area.
• Follow safety rules and participate in safety meetings.
