Job summary

Benson's Bakery in United States is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to keep production equipment running safely and efficiently. You will follow exact maintenance and safety instructions to uphold quality standards.

Responsibilities include electrical work, PLC basics, welding and fabricating, machine set ups, and coordination with management on safety and quality issues. A robust maintenance background in manufacturing is required.

Qualifications

• Five years or more progressive maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with maintenance manager, plant management and quality control concerning safety and quality issues.
• Knowledge of single phase and three phase electrical systems; VFD and PLC basics.
• Troubleshoot controls and perform machine set ups at start up.
• Millwright tasks: replace and align shafts, install bearings, gearboxes, chains and sprockets.
• General welding and fabrication; basic hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge.
• Preventive maintenance and keeping the work area safe and clean.

Position Summary

Performs a variety of task associated with the maintenance and upkeep of equipment used in the production process. Follows exact maintenance and safety instructions indicating the proper maintenance of equipment and tools.

Position Responsibilities/Major Duties

• Shall communicate with maintenance manager, plant management and quality control concerning all pertinent food safety and quality issues.
• Knowledge of Single phase and three phase electrical.
• VFD and PLC basics
• Knowledge and experience with control troubleshooting.
• Millwright ability checking and changing drive components, replacing and align shafts, install bearings, install gearboxes and or chains and sprockets.
• Ability to do general welding and fabrication.
• Knowledge and ability to do machine set ups at start up.
• Basic knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulics.
• General knowledge of facilities maintenance to include basic plumbing, lighting maintenance, and painting.
• Requisitions tools, equipment and supplies necessary to maintain plant equipment while adhering to established budget constraints.
• Maintains safe working environment for all employees/contractors. Participates in development, implementation and enforcement of safety programs.
• Maintains cleanliness of work area.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures (GMPs, Plant Rules, EEO, Sexual Harassment, Safety, etc.).
• Performs other duties as directed by management.

Essential Job Functions/Requirements

• License- (License / certification as required)
• Mobility- Must be physically capable of rapid, unimpeded movement to all areas of the plant
• Sensory- Ability to generate written communication, operate computer keyboard and other required office equipment. Ability to read and review written communication, blueprints schematics, etc.
• Communications- Speech and hearing abilities to communicate clearly and distinctly in English (in person and via telephone) and/or other language, if required.
• Other:
• Ability to research, ascertain, develop, implement and monitor required policies and procedures.
• Ability to wear and use approved, applicable safety equipment, as needed.
• Ability to read, comprehend and practice necessary safety procedures, signs, etc.
• Must meet/maintain CDC food handling requirements and other governmental and/or customer requirements.
• Performance of other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures.

Desired Experience

Five years or more progressively responsible maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

Desired Education

Associate or higher College Degree. Completion of AIB Maintenance program.
