Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Maintenance Technician in West Virginia. The role involves equipment setup, repairs, and preventative maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems. You will support lean and 6S initiatives, manage parts orders, and ensure safety device maintenance, with standby and occasional overtime as needed.

The position requires 2+ years in manufacturing, proficiency with Word/Excel, and a strong safety mindset. Training provided; benefits begin day one.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Proficient in Word and Excel for daily tasks.
• Experience with Extrusion equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up equipment as needed and repair equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and order replacement parts.
• Repair leaks and address system issues.
• Participate in lean and 6S teams and maintain parts inventory.
• Install safety devices and comply with safety procedures.
• Be available for standby, off-hour work, and overtime as required.

JOB DETAILS

Base Pay: $22.50-$34.50 per hour, plus a $1.25 shift differential

Rotational Shift: 6 AM to 6 PM & 6 PM to 6 AM, 4/3/3/4 Schedule

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Maintenance Technician, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to, set up equipment as needed, the repair of equipment, performing preventative maintenance, ordering replacement parts for equipment, repair leaks of all kinds. A successful candidate must have superior written and verbal communication skills. This position requires strict adherence to safety policies and procedures and a commitment to customer quality. This position requires flexibility; must be available for regular standby assignments; work scheduled off‑hours and emergency overtime as required.

• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills for the following disciplines
  • General print reading
  • Air systems
  • Water systems
  • Air compressors
  • Chilled water systems
  • Suction and pressure-style powder conveying systems
  • Pumps and valve rebuilds
  • Shaft alignment including bearing installation and setting clearances
• Part of lean and 6s teams
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Install safety devices on equipment and maintain those devices
• Order parts as needed
• Maintain repair parts inventory

Electrical troubleshooting and repair skills with respect to the following:

• Electrical print reading
• Relay logic troubleshooting and repair
• Instrumentation calibration and repair
• Variable frequency drive troubleshooting/replacement/programming
• PLC skills limited to troubleshooting only

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-year technical school degree desired
• Minimum 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proficient in Word and Excel
• Experience with Extrusion equipment and associated equipment desired
• Must be willing to attend training sessions as needed

Physical Requirements:

Must possess strength, stamina and mobility to perform heavy physical work with exposure to potentially hazardous conditions, use varied hand and power tools, drive a motor vehicle and/or light construction equipment, fork trucks, platform lifts etc; lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 90 pounds and heavier weights with the use of proper equipment; able to read printed materials and a computer screen
