Job summary

Synthomer plc is seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee daily operation of process equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and handle emergency repairs with moderate supervision. The role starts at $35/hr and requires 3–5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.

You will read prints and schematics, install and repair equipment, manage parts through SAP-PM, and support safety and compliance programs. Overtime and multiple shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent degree.
• Journeyman Card or two year degree or a union card in a particular trade.
• 3-5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of distributive control system (DCS).
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization both written and orally.
• Self-directed and able to follow instructions.
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, E-Mail.
• Able to lift and/or carry up to fifty (50) pounds and perform work at heights.
• Must wear respirator and other required PPE.
• Experience with ISO-9001/Process Safety Management and SAP-PM (or other CMMS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe work practices and support safety goals.
• Perform scheduled and emergency repairs from prints and manuals.
• Mend rotating equipment, bearings, gears, shafts, and pins.
• Pipe installation and material selection for services.
• Read piping specs and engineering drawings.
• Operate industrial equipment safely (forklifts, lifts, rigging).
• Troubleshoot steam systems and repair pumps.
