Job summary

American Hardwood Industries in West Point, VA, is hiring Industrial Maintenance Technicians for a full-time role within a world-class hardwood lumber manufacturing environment.

The position demands hands-on electrical/electronic and mechanical skills to diagnose and repair systems across the plant, including PLCs, NCs, drives, gauges, and test equipment. Strong teamwork and a proactive, safety-minded approach are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic fields preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Welding and/or mechanical experience is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization and effectively support line operators in troubleshooting and repair activities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct, maintain, test, and repair electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components.
• Apply knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles to diagnose equipment malfunctions and restore systems to optimal operation.
• Provide comprehensive mechanical and electrical/electronic support across all areas of manufacturing.
• Troubleshoot and repair a wide range of equipment, including PLCs, numerical controls, power supplies, drives, gauges, and test equipment.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
