Job summary

Oldcastle Infrastructure, a CRH company, seeks a Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, maintain and improve heavy industrial equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role focuses on mechanical and electrical systems, industrial automation, and PLC-controlled equipment to minimize downtime.

Qualified candidates have 3+ years in industrial maintenance, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability.
• Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems and motor controls.
• Experience with PLC controlled equipment and industrial automation.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, motors, and associated controls.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures involving bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, drive systems, and power transmission components.
• Perform equipment alignments, component replacements, adjustments, and mechanical repairs.
• Maintain and repair concrete manufacturing equipment, material handling systems, and related production machinery.
• Identify root causes of recurring mechanical failures and implement corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical systems operating on 24VDC, 120VAC, 240VAC, and 480VAC.
• Diagnose PLC-controlled equipment, including inputs, outputs, sensors, relays, contactors, and control circuits.
• Troubleshoot variable frequency drives (VFDs), electric motors, motor starters, and control panels.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Identify electrical faults using multimeters and other diagnostic equipment.
