Job summary

ICL Specialty Fertilizers in North Charleston, SC seeks a Maintenance Technician to ensure smooth plant operation and safety. The role handles diagnosing, repairing, preventive maintenance, and reliability improvements while coordinating with other departments and maintaining inventory.

The position requires 5+ years in industrial maintenance, reading blueprints, electrical knowledge up to 480V, and CMMS experience. Occasional overtime and local residency are expected.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years experience in industrial maintenance or related technical education and work.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
• Understanding of electric motors and motor systems (480V and lower).
• Basic familiarity with instrumentation (level, flow, temp, PLCs, HMIs).
• Robust mechanical knowledge of conveying systems, rotating equipment, pneumatics, and packaging equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment issues; replace faulty components.
• Emergency response to quickly address equipment breakdowns.
• Perform preventive maintenance and document activities.
• Maintain equipment reliability and identify improvement opportunities.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance in all maintenance tasks.
• Operate cranes, hoists, tools, measurement devices, and testing equipment.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve equipment issues.
• Maintain parts and tools inventory and organize storage.
• Keep detailed maintenance logs and documentation.
• Perform any other duties to support production during busy periods.
