Job summary

Grain Processing Corporation in Washington, Indiana seeks a Maintenance Technician to diagnose, repair and overhaul mechanical equipment throughout the process area.

The role involves reading blueprints, performing preventative maintenance, and collaborating with electrical and process teams. A high school diploma plus mechanical maintenance training is required; welding and fabrication skills are a plus, with 12-hour rotating shifts and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced mechanical maintenance training a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, manuals and procedures.
• Experience with welding, plasma cutting and torch work preferred.
• Familiarity with millwright tools and general maintenance equipment.
• Effective communication and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Service equipment by testing and replacing faulty mechanical components.
• Plan and perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
• Analyze and perform running adjustments, repairs and overhauls.
• Work safely with mechanical principles and process equipment.
• Read blueprints and process drawings; understand process flows.
• Use hand, power, and shop tools to maintain equipment operation.
• Fabricate parts using common trades tools, including welding.
• Adhere to safety rules, plant policies, and procedures.
• Work with a mechanical team on installations, coordinating with electricians and machinists.
• Access hard-to-reach areas by climbing, bending, and maneuvering body positions.
• Occasionally be on-call for emergency repairs in the process.
• Perform other mechanical/maintenance duties as assigned.
• Collaborate with maintenance and production staff to troubleshoot issues.
• Determine alternatives to planned procedures and PPE/permits needed.
• Identify pipe specifications and operate forklifts, lifts, and related equipment.
