Job summary

Prime Metal Buildings & Components is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform general repair and preventive maintenance of equipment in our shop and steel yard. You will troubleshoot machinery, follow manuals, and collaborate with the team to keep operations running smoothly.

The ideal candidate has basic electrical/hydraulic knowledge, good reading skills, and a proactive attitude. Prior shop experience is preferred, and occasional overnight travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Positive attitude and desire to work as a team player.
• Follow safety procedures including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and repairs on engines, motors, pneumatic and hydraulic machinery, conveyor systems, and production machines.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions following diagrams, manuals, and engineering specifications.
• Cleans and maintains tools and equipment used for machine maintenance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
• Occasional overnight travel.
