Job summary

Becton, Dickinson and Company in Sandy, Utah is seeking a skilled Line Mechanic to maintain and repair production equipment and automated systems, ensuring safe, efficient manufacturing and meeting quality and productivity targets.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, support changeovers, and lead maintenance activities across shifts, collaborating with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience repairing industrial equipment.
• Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to diagnose equipment failures and perform corrective repairs.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance and supporting continuous equipment improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Fix and diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation issues on production equipment.
• Perform routine, emergency, and corrective maintenance repairs to restore equipment operation.
• Disassemble, repair, replace, reassemble, and adjust machine components to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Coordinate the fabrication of replacement parts and tooling with the Machine Shop as needed.
• Fabricate simple replacement parts for emergency repairs when necessary to minimize downtime.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance (PM) activities in accordance with established schedules and procedures.
• Provide leadership and support for PM activities, equipment improvements, and reliability initiatives.
• Support all production lines and provide maintenance coverage across departments as required.
• Mentor and develop Maintenance Mechanic backup personnel and assist with technical training.
• Work independently or collaboratively with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues.
• Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and GMP requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
