Job summary

American-Gypsum is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join a high-performing team focused on keeping production equipment running safely and efficiently. The role collaborates with operations to diagnose and resolve mechanical and basic electrical issues while prioritizing safety and quality in every assignment.

Candidates should have 1 year of industrial or military maintenance experience or a 2-year technical degree in Maintenance Mechanics or Engineering, with a willingness to work overtime,

Qualifications

• One year of industrial or military maintenance experience or a 2-year technical degree in related field.
• Experience with industrial maintenance practices and policies.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain the Maintenance Technician tool set.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently fulfill tasks assigned by the Maintenance Foreman.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on production and support equipment.
• Install, repair, and maintain mechanical drives, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical schematics.
• Accurately use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, tachometers).
• Assist with troubleshooting and replacing motors (including 480V), wiring, and basic controls as directed.
• Weld and fabricate as needed to support maintenance tasks.
• Complete work orders effectively and document repairs accurately.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in assigned areas daily.
• Report any equipment issues promptly to the Maintenance Foreman.
• Be flexible and fill in on other jobs or assist other departments as needed.
