Job summary

voestalpine Railway Systems Nortrak in Pueblo, Colorado is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair plant production equipment including CNC machines, hydraulic presses, saws, cranes, forklifts, and other metalworking equipment. The role requires technical training and maintenance experience, with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED preferred.
• Vocational technical training in mechanical related field is preferred.
• 3 years of maintenance experience preferred.
• Forklift and Crane certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance, diagnosis and repair all mechanicals, hydraulics, electrical and CNC electronics on manufacturing machinery, material handling systems, cranes, forklifts, dust collection system, and the physical plant.
• Train operators on preventative maintenance. Maintain a work order system.
• Layout, installation, and start-up of project work.
• Organize and maintain spare parts inventory.
• Understand the operation of pneumatics, hydraulics and general mechanics.
• Complete daily work orders and assignments in a timely manner.
• Understanding of Programmable Logic Controls, Variable Frequency Drives, Sensors and transducers including Pyrometers, Pressure Transducers & switches, Multimeters, Thermocouples and Proximity sensors.
• Must be able to wire motors and controls up to 480 VAC & 250 VDC.
• Must be capable of performing shaft alignments and understand what type couplers to use.
• Understand hydraulic controls and pumps including pressure relief valves, directional. control valves and flow controls on Vane & Piston pumps.
• Be willing to work outside from man lifts in rain or snow.
• Understand lock out tag out procedures.
• Adhere to Nortrak's Safety, Quality and Environmental Procedures, Practices and Policies.
