Job summary

Joseph Abboud Manufacturing in New Bedford is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician to support production by maintaining automated assembly equipment, machinery, and systems. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, forklifts, conveyors, and related plant systems.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical background and equipment troubleshooting experience.
• Technical, vocational or trade school education is a plus.
• Demonstrated mechanical skills and technical aptitude.
• Prior diagnostic, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance experience preferred.
• Familiarity with hand and electric tools.
• Ability to prioritize and organize work.
• Must possess good communication skills and English proficiency.
• Detail-oriented with problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Willingness to work overtime, off-shift, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, assemble, repair and maintain equipment and systems for automated and manual production.
• Repair and maintain material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyors, loading docks and related plant equipment.
• Coordinate and participate in preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Operate hand and powered tools to maintain a wide range of equipment.
• Repair and maintain material handling equipment; understand mechanical operations for motor driven equipment.
• Identify problems by observing equipment, using tools and standard practices to correct issues.
• Maintain equipment, parts, tools and inventory in the maintenance shop.
• Maintain a safe working environment and follow SOPs.
• Interact with a high-volume team and management to support production needs.
