Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking an industrial maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance and repair of thermal processing equipment, ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, and related systems in our facility. You will read gauges, enter data, and use SAP/Excel for documentation.

The role offers a starting hourly wage with a $2,500 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for eligible candidates, along with opportunities for career growth and education benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1+ year in industrial maintenance or 4 years in similar env.
• Capable of working with supervision or independently as needed.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read measuring equipment and schematics

Responsibilities

• Operate boiler and ammonia refrigeration systems and related equipment
• Follow procedures to comply with regulations and safety rules
• Read and record data from gauges and computer systems
• Perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs on pumps, fans, valves
• Utilize SAP, Word/Excel for documentation
• Work in round-the-clock shifts as part of a team
