Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a preventive maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance and repair of thermal processing equipment in our facility. You will ensure safe and compliant operation of refrigeration, ammonia, HVAC, and engine room processes.

The role requires ability to read gauges, use SAP and MS Excel, and follow strict PPE and safety protocols. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1+ years of related maintenance experience, or 4 years in industrial maintenance.
• Ability to work with or without supervision.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate boilers and ammonia refrigeration systems, air compressors, and wastewater treatment systems.
• Follow procedures to comply with company and governmental regulations.
• Work as part of a round-the-clock team using written, verbal, and electronic communication.
• Read and interpret data from gauges and computer systems.
