Job summary

Virnig Manufacturing is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure the proper functioning, repair, and preventive maintenance of production machinery. You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, request parts, and perform routine inspections to minimize downtime while upholding safety and efficiency.

The role involves collaborating with outside technicians and production teams, supporting continuous operations, and assisting with new equipment installations and shop setup

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
• Proven experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools commonly used in maintenance work.
• Forklift and hoist experience.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance software and reporting.
• Understanding of safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, or on-call as needed.
• Certification in industrial maintenance (e.g., HVAC, PLC, welding) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper functioning, repair, and preventive maintenance of machinery, equipment, and systems used in production.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues; request parts as needed.
• Perform routine inspections and minimize downtime while ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with outside technicians and production teams to support continuous operations.
• Assist with equipment upgrades or installations and shop setup.
• Organize and record repair and maintenance information in spreadsheets/reports.
