Job summary

ATS is seeking an experienced maintenance technician in Chicago to perform expert level break-fix and preventative maintenance on complex electrical, mechanical, and control systems. You will diagnose root causes, repair or replace parts, and document results.

The role requires daily travel, use of hand tools, and the ability to operate machinery such as lathe, drill press, and grinder. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k with employer matching.

Qualifications

• HS graduate or GED required.
• Technical associate degree or 12 years industry experience.
• Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems.
• Able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools.
• Travel daily.

Responsibilities

• Performs expert level break-fix and preventative maintenance on complex equipment.
• Identifies parts, sources supplies, and evaluates cost/reliability options.
• Independently performs maintenance per industry standards.
• Works with customers to optimize maintenance procedures.
• Sets up and operates machining operations (lathe, drill press, grinder) and may weld.
• Documents work in service reports and data records.
• Mentors lower level technicians and supports project teams.
• Troubleshoots and analyzes complex control systems and performance data.
