Job summary

Express Employment Professionals in Wisconsin is seeking a Maintenance Technician to safely operate and repair a variety of mechanical and electrical systems in a manufacturing setting. You will troubleshoot pumps, motors, drives, and hydraulic equipment while following strict safety policies and producing quality workmanship.

The role requires 2 years of maintenance experience or 2 years of technical training, with proficiency in hand tools and PLC/HVAC awareness.

Qualifications

2 years of mechanical, millwright, or manufacturing maintenance experience or 2 years of relevant technical training (preferred).
Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to diagnose and repair industrial equipment.
General knowledge of PLC controls, motor controls, and HVAC systems (preferred but not required).
Proficient use of hand tools and basic shop equipment.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and quality workmanship.
Effective communication skills in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently operate a variety of hand and power tools.
Follow and uphold OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies.
Work collaboratively with production employees, contractors, and other maintenance personnel.
Assist in troubleshooting and repairing pumps, 440V 3‑phase electrical systems, motors, drives, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic equipment.
Identify required parts and materials for maintenance tasks and communicate needs to the Shop Superintendent.
Read, interpret, and work from standard prints, schematics, and written instructions.
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment and facility systems.
Respond to urgent maintenance needs, including occasional off-shift or weekend work.
Complete general maintenance tasks such as housekeeping, painting, and other duties as assigned by supervision.
Work independently or as part of a team, completing tasks with minimal supervision when required.
Utilize basic computer applications (Word, Excel) for documentation, reporting, and communication.
