Job summary

Pitney Bowes is seeking a direct-hire, full-time Industrial Maintenance Technician for our Charlotte, North Carolina Presort Services facility. This onsite role operates on a 3rd shift schedule from 11:45 PM to 8:15 AM EST, Monday through Friday, with overtime potential.

The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and diagnosing complex electromechanical equipment including conveyors and PLC systems to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of direct experience troubleshooting and repairing complex industrial mechanical equipment.
• Familiarity with servicing conveyor machines, PLC systems, and other electromechanical production equipment.
• Experience using a multi-meter or other electronic testing equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, charts, service manuals, and parts diagrams.
• Familiarity with Windows PC environment as it pertains to automated equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under deadline pressures.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex mechanical and electronic repairs on conveyors, PLC systems, and other electromechanical production equipment.
• Perform electrical and mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, and installations on industrial machinery.
• Complete preventative maintenance according to industry quality standards.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns or emergencies.
• Utilize inventory, PM schedules, and work order systems to reduce downtime.
• Maintain spare parts/supply inventory in the EAM system.
• Track repairs and downtime using tablets and verify inventory used.
• Perform other duties as required.

Pitney Bowes is now hiring for a direct hire full-time onsite Industrial Maintenance Technician, 3rd Shift in our Charlotte, North Carolina Presort Services facility.

Your hourly pay range will be $30 - $40, with the possibility for overtime.

Your 3rd Shift schedule will be Monday through Friday from 11:45PM – 8:15AM EST.

You are a Performance-driven Contributor who can effectively troubleshoot, repair, or diagnose complex mechanical or electrical issues on industrial equipment. You are a self-motivated individual who seeks opportunities to improve current practices, increase efficiency, and reduce downtime for industrial mail sorting equipment.

You Will

• Perform complex mechanical and electronic repairs of conveyor machines, PLC systems, and other industrial types of electromechanical production equipment (Mail Sorters/ Printers)
• Perform electrical and mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, and installations on industrial machinery including belt/pulley systems, hydraulic and pneumatic components, motors, photo-eyes, relays, drive assemblies, limit switches, proximity sensors, and solenoids.
• Complete preventative maintenance according to industry quality standards
• Respond to equipment breakdown or emergency situations.
• Utilize inventory, pm schedule, and work order systems to effectively reduce downtime.
• Maintain the spare parts/supply inventory utilizing EAM.
• Evaluate and assess equipment problems by troubleshooting and completing repairs in a timely manner.
• Utilize a tablet to track assigned work and machine downtime as well as inventory used in repair.
• Perform all additional duties as required.

Your background

• 2 or more years’ direct experience troubleshooting and repairing complex industrial mechanical equipment.
• Strong familiarity servicing conveyer machines, PLC systems, and other industrial types of electromechanical production equipment
• Experience using a multi-meter or any other type of electronic testing equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, charts, service manuals, and parts diagrams.
• Familiarity with Windows PC environment as it pertains to the operation of automated equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot equipment problems, read schematics, establish priorities, and work under deadline pressures.
