Job summary

Halifax Linen Service is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift (electrical focus) in Roanoke Rapids, NC. The role requires diagnosing and repairing industrial electrical equipment, motors, and control systems within a busy laundry facility. You will work 3:30 PM to 12:00 Midnight and earn $32.00 per hour with strong safety practices.

Experience reading schematics and using multimeters is essential. PLC/HMI fault troubleshooting and VFD experience are highly preferred.

Pay: $32.00 per hour

Hours: 3:30PM-12:00 Midnight

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical equipment and control systems.
• Troubleshoot motors, motor controls, relays, contactors, sensors, and electrical circuits.
• Identify and resolve issues involving PLCs, HMIs, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Use multimeters and electrical diagnostic equipment to identify and correct failures.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns during second-shift production and work to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventive maintenance and identify potential equipment failures before they occur.
• Assist with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs when needed.
• Document repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment concerns.
• Communicate equipment issues, completed repairs, and outstanding maintenance needs to the Chief Engineer and other maintenance personnel.
• Follow all company safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Previous industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong hands-on industrial electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to independently diagnose and repair electrical equipment failures.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Experience troubleshooting industrial motors and motor controls.
• Proficiency using multimeters and other electrical testing equipment.
• Ability to prioritize repairs and troubleshoot equipment under production demands.
• Ability to work second shift and additional hours when required.
• Strong safety awareness, dependability, and communication skills.
• Must be available to consistently work the second-shift schedule of 3:30-12:00 Midnight and additional hours when operational needs are required.

Highly Preferred

• Experience troubleshooting PLC systems and input/output signals.
• Experience diagnosing VFD and HMI faults.
• Experience with industrial automation and control systems.
• Industrial laundry or textile manufacturing maintenance experience.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Work Environment
