Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support our processing facility’s equipment and systems. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machinery across electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, plumbing, welding and refrigeration areas.

The role requires good mechanical skills, the ability to read and follow instructions, and excellent attendance. A willingness to complete maintenance level 4 training is expected. Shift differential applies for 2nd shift.

Qualifications

• Good mechanical skills including repair of gearboxes, bearings, etc.
• Ability to read and write and comprehend written instructions.
• Excellent attendance and reliability; ability to gain skills.
• Experience with industrial equipment maintenance and AC/DC controls.

Responsibilities

• PM Equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair production equipment & systems (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, plumbing, welding, refrigeration)
• Maintain all plant equipment
• Mechanical ability to perform other assigned duties.
