Industrial Maintenance Technician - 2nd and 3rd shift (Finance)
*New shift differentials of $2.00/hr on 2nd shift and $3.00/hr on 3rd shift.
Minimum base pay for maintenance starts at $31.20/hr.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow safety procedures and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc., to maintain a safe work environment and eliminate safety hazards.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment, including power transmission, chains, hydraulic/pneumatic/steam systems, vacuum pumps, and mechanical motors.
- Diagnose and repair electrical components like motors, disconnecting devices, wiring, overload protection devices, PLCs, and electronic control circuits.
- Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Coordinate with vendors for technical assistance.
- Maintain and update documentation related to maintenance activities.
- Create and complete work orders and related paperwork accurately.
- Assist with parts ordering, verification, and inventory management.
- Keep management informed about project statuses, ongoing issues, and safety concerns.
- Identify opportunities for maintenance or process improvements and recommend solutions.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.
- Work from sketches or verbal instructions and interpret blueprints.
- Use proper tools and testing equipment to perform maintenance, installation, replacement, and testing on electrical systems and equipment.
- Work in conditions that may include confined spaces, dust, fumes, temperature extremes, noise, vibration, stairs, and wet or uneven surfaces.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Education
Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Desired: Technical Degree.
Skills & Experience
Work Experience Required:
- At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Desired:
- Demonstrate initiative and logical problem-solving skills for complex electrical and mechanical issues.
- Troubleshoot single and 3-phase electrical systems from 24V to 480V.
- Understand electrical prints and symbols.
- Basic metal fabrication and welding skills.
- Ability to read measuring devices accurately.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities under tight deadlines.
- Work independently and maintain an organized workspace.
- Occasional overtime, including off-shifts and holidays.
- Strong communication skills.
- Maintain a positive team attitude.
- Lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, walk, and carry items over 50 lbs. regularly.
