Industrial Maintenance Technician - $24.73 - $30.13 2nd Shift

Company: Stratas Foods

Location: Dallas area facilities (manufacturing plants across multiple sites; corporate offices in Memphis, TN)

Pay and Schedule: Pay: $24.73 - $30.13 per hour; Schedule: Monday - Friday (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM) with some weekend work and overtime.

Job Description: Qualified candidates must be able to perform a variety of jobs, tasks, or duties as required; be dependable; able to work any shift, overtime, and weekends as required. They may also be required to pass an aptitude test. Tasks include general housekeeping, clean up, sweeping, vacuuming, painting, lubrication, power washing, lifting and hauling, dump rework, and operation of a motorized forklift and other duties as assigned.

Primary Duties

• Keeping lines running for better efficiency
• Complete work orders as assigned
• Keep work areas neat and clean
• Work safely and follow all SOPs on lock out of equipment
• Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) on assigned areas
• Complete daily and monthly PMs
• Able to assist others on job tasks
• Identify needed mechanical improvements
• Make necessary mechanical repairs when possible
• Identify and work to eliminate unsafe conditions and/or practices
• Complete and accurate downtime sheets/GMP log
• On-call on weekends when required
• Ability to rewire electrical components and operate related equipment

Primary Objectives

• Work with line operators/supervisors to proactively maintain lines
• Complete work orders in a timely manner

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience: Previous relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Equipment/Software: Basic computer knowledge – data entry
• Competencies:
  • Ability to get along well with others
  • Ability to operate and understand packaging equipment and processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Desire to advance in Maintenance Department
  • Ability to operate forklift truck, scissors lift and other equipment
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Ability to rewire electrical components (industrial electrical background)
  • Ability to connect laptop to equipment to troubleshoot machines
  • Ability to wear respirator (SCBA and/or cartridge type) as required

Physical/Sensory/Mental Requirements: Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs, bend, kneel, stand for long periods, work in confined spaces, and work at heights. Must be able to analyze information quickly to provide feedback and troubleshoot equipment failures.
