Job summary

PPG Industries in Strongsville, OH is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to support a multi-craft maintenance program in a manufacturing environment. You will maintain mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems to ensure uninterrupted production.

Starting pay is $33.67–$35.72 per hour, plus a $0.65 shift differential and a $1,000 sign-on bonus. Shift: 2nd, 3:00pm–11:00pm, with responsibilities including troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and equipment installation.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical, electrical and HVAC fields in a manufacturing or plant maintenance setting.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis abilities.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at height with safety in mind.

Responsibilities

• Repair, modify and install equipment to maintain and operate the facility.
• Perform preventative maintenance on belts, piping, filters, mixers, valves, bearings, motors, gear boxes, agitators, dies, extruders, feeders, rolls, drive chains, classifiers, mills, and mechanical seals and pumps.
• Work in confined spaces, on elevated platforms, ladders, scaffolding and roofs.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform proof tests to prevent problems and improve reliability.
• Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs and identify root causes to address issues within time constraints.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate will be required to perform in a multi-craft environment. This position requires strong experience in mechanical, electrical and HVAC fields. Prior experience in manufacturing and plant maintenance is preferred. Thorough knowledge of Industrial production and utility equipment operation is preferred.
