Job summary

Knowles Corp. (Cornell Dubilier) seeks a Maintenance Technician for the Solaris Project to perform advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment and facility systems in a high-precision manufacturing environment.

You will lead preventive and corrective maintenance, document work orders in CMMS, support process engineers, and participate in TPM and continuous improvement initiatives while complying with safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Industrial maintenance experience at Technician II or III level in manufacturing.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with drives, sensors, relays.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools: multimeters, thermal cameras, vibration analyzers.
  • Experience with CMMS systems (SAP PM, Maximo, Fiix or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with TPM, 5S, lean maintenance and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production machinery and utilities.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic failures using diagnostic tools.
  • Document maintenance work orders and parts usage in the CMMS with accurate records.
  • Install, align, calibrate, and commission machinery per OEM specs and safety standards.
  • Support process engineers and production teams to resolve issues and improve performance.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory coordination with Maintenance Planner.
  • Ensure compliance with plant safety standards including LOTO and PPE use.
  • Engage in TPM and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime.
  • Read and apply schematics and OEM documentation during troubleshooting.
  • Provide shift coverage, respond to emergencies, and work overtime when required.

Job description

As a Maintenance Technician for the Solaris Project at Knowles’ Cornell Dubilier, you will perform advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment and facility systems to ensure reliable, efficient, and safe operations in a high-precision manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production machinery, facility utilities, and supporting systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic failures using advanced diagnostic tools and technical expertise.
  • Complete and document maintenance work orders in the CMMS, ensuring accurate records of repairs, parts usage, and downtime.
  • Install, align, calibrate, and commission machinery and equipment following OEM specifications and safety standards.
  • Support process engineers and production teams in resolving equipment issues and improving equipment performance.
  • Assist with maintaining spare parts inventory and identifying critical spare needs in coordination with the Maintenance Planner.
  • Ensure compliance with plant safety standards, including LOTO, arc flash safety, confined space procedures, and PPE use.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives (RCA, 5-Why, TPM) to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Read, understand, and apply mechanical/electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals during troubleshooting and repair.
  • Provide shift coverage, respond to emergency maintenance calls, and support production needs during off-hours or overtime when required.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
  • Industrial maintenance experience at a Technician II or III level, preferably in a manufacturing or high-precision environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, including experience with motors, drives, sensors, relays, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Proficiency using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, thermal cameras, vibration analyzers, and alignment tools.
  • Experience working with CMMS systems (SAP PM, Maximo, Fiix, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with capacitor manufacturing equipment such as winding machines, ovens, presses, coating systems, and vacuum systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of TPM, 5S, lean principles, and reliability-focused maintenance best practices.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures, including LOTO, hazard communication, machine guarding, and electrical safety.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and OEM technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, rotating shifts, and overtime to support production demands.

One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting base pay for this role is$30.00 to $40.00per hour
