Reporting and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting the preventative and corrective maintenance activities, root cause failure analysis, equipment/system/process improvement, and timely response/resolution to down time issues.
Additional Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Perform all duties in a safe and collaborative manner and immediately report any potentially dangerous conditions or other safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Start up and shuts down equipment in accordance with operation’s requirements, company safety procedures and OSHA requirements for machine activation and shutdown and troubleshooting.
- Advise management on machine issues, performance, or improvements.
- Supports production employees to troubleshoot and correct failures on the production line.
- Use root cause analysis to solve problems related to the different systems on the production line.
- Strong
- Troubleshoot and repairs electric controls, motor control centers, and programmable logic controls.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment to detect and prevent problems.
- Dismantle, inspect and replace electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts.
- Apply knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, PLC, calibrations, and other electronics related areas.
- Assist with mechanical troubleshooting of highly automated process equipment.
- Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests.
- Mentoring/training maintenance mechanical technicians and production operators.
- Calibrate testing instruments and installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications.
- Basic understanding of the fire alarm system and able to recognize and acknowledge faults.
- Must have capabilities to operate and understand the prcess of all equipment related with the auxiliary services like a chiller, boiler, AC units and Air compressor.
- Must be able to troubleshoot A.C. Drives and motors
- Must be able to read drawings and check inputs and outputs from the PLC to troubleshoot.
- Replace bearings on electrical motors
- Follow Lock Out/Tag out procedures.
- Use of forklift, crane, lift, etc.
- Maintain flexibility in work shift to support the plant needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Industrial Technology/Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance or similar field; OR Journeyman Electrician license.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial mechanical and/or electrical maintenance in manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of machine mechanics.
- The desire to be part of a growing facility and learn while developing the skills needed to advance within a highly technical role.
- Must be able to work 2-2-3 work schedule; nights; 12 hour shifts.
- Must be able to pass a background, physical, and drug screen.
