Job Details

During the assigned shift, the Maintenance Technician performs all tasks associated with installing, adjusting, and maintaining mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment to keep operations running safely and efficiently. This position also troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, and computer-related issues and takes appropriate steps to resolve them.

What your day may look like:

1. Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
2. Follows diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot malfunctions.
3. Troubleshoots and maintains PLCs, plant instrumentation, and electronic equipment.
4. Completes simple programming of logic controllers.
5. Reduces downtime and increases on-stream time on all operations during the shift.
6. Provides written documentation on issues using a PM program or work order system for clear communication to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.

Additional responsibilities include locating sources of problems, inspecting parts, adjusting devices, analyzing issues, installing new machinery, performing metal work, maintaining tools, fabricating parts, training team members, and ensuring safety and cleanliness.

Education and experience required:

• Technical degree or trade school certificate in mechanical, electrical, or HVAC fields.
• Two years of plant maintenance experience with electronic troubleshooting and logic controllers, or three years of general plant maintenance experience.

Additional skills that will help you succeed include:

• Effective communication in English.
• Organizational and prioritization skills.
• Proficiency with common and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to stand for long periods in extreme temperatures.
• Ability to pass OSHA respirator physical if required.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts.
