Job summary

GMA Americas is seeking a Maintenance Technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment. You will support safety, predictive maintenance, and reliability initiatives on site.

The role requires 4+ years in manufacturing with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical skills and PLC experience; HVAC knowledge is valued. A craft apprenticeship or equivalent education is expected, with preference for an AA degree in related fields.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with craft apprenticeship or equivalent maintenance experience.
• 4+ years of manufacturing experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills including PLC experience and HVAC.
• Completion of a complete GMA Training package provided by GMA.
• Complete understanding of all industrial safety regulations.
• Punctual, meticulous and reliable.
• AA degree preferred in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance.
• Vacuum furnace experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain production machines and plant facilities.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs during production.
• Perform simple machinist duties.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders.
• Diagnose problems and replace or repair parts, test and adjust.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines and facilities.
• Use various hand and power tools, meters, and material handling equipment.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas.

• Main functions:

  The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

  Reports to: Maintenance Manager

  Essential Functions:

• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment

• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service

• Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities

• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines

• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service

• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments

• Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities

• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions

• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties

• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision

• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas

  Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience

• 4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC

• Completion of a complete GMA Training package provide by GMA

• Complete understand of all industrial safety regulations

• Punctual, meticulous and reliable

• An AA degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance (preferred)

• Vacuum furnace experience (preferred)

• Language Ability:

• Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers

• Ability to print and speak simple sentences

• Math Ability:

• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's

• Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance

• Reasoning Ability:

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions

• Computer Skills:
