Job summary

KOHLS is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our facilities and equipment running smoothly. You will inspect, repair and maintain conveyors, HVAC, lighting and related systems to promote safety and efficiency. The role includes collaboration with contractors and handling parts administration.

Applicants should have basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment, plus the ability to work with minimal supervision and provide their own basic tools.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC equipment.
• Compliance with all MSDS standards and lock-out/tag procedures.
• Ability to climb ladders and run all power equipment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must provide own basic set of tools.
• Ability to use cleaning and disinfecting solutions, oil and equipment according to MSDS procedure.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair conveyor systems and equipment daily.
• Perform preventative maintenance on air compressors, generators, and power handling equipment.
• Inspect and repair fire protection equipment.
• Handle parts administration.
• Assist with minor electrical/plumbing repairs, painting, and office moves.
• Maintain heating and air conditioning units.
• Maintain lighting across the facility.
• Sort and load pallets and materials for recycling.
• Assist outside contractors and respond to jams or malfunctions promptly.

Shifts:
Monday-Thursday 2pm-12am

Monday-Thursday 10pm-8am

About the Role

As a Maintenance Technician, you will promote workplace efficiency and profitability by maintaining, inspecting and repairing facilities, equipment and machinery.

What You’ll Do

• Daily inspection and repair of all conveyor systems and equipment
• Routine inspection, preventative maintenance and maintenance of air compressors, generators, compactors, bailers, conveyors and power and material handling equipment
• Perform inspection and repair of fire protection equipment
• Parts administration

• Perform minor electrical and plumbing repairs, painting and office furniture moves
• Perform routine maintenance on heating and air conditioning units
• Maintain lighting throughout the facility
• Sort, stack and load pallets, cardboard, aluminum, steel and light bulbs for recycling

• Assist outside contractors in performing various duties
• Promptly answer calls for jams, malfunctions or other maintenance-related issues
