Job description

Position Summary
Steel Forgings Inc. (SFI) is a leading manufacturer of custom butt weld fittings with over 70 years of servicing the oil and gas industry. The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician will perform hands-on machinery maintenance and collaborate with a team of technicians responsible for repairs, preventative maintenance, and facilities upkeep at a manufacturing plant in Shreveport/Bossier City, LA.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform senior-level mechanical and electrical repairs on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures effectively and efficiently.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, hydraulic/electric schematics, equipment manuals, and blueprints.
• Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures.
• Ensure operation of machinery by completing preventive maintenance on production machines, motors, and tools.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with plant supervisors.
• Communicate repair and operational status to the maintenance manager.
• Operate tools and equipment safely during repairs.

Experience:

• 5-10+ years in machinery maintenance and electrical work within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong skills in mechanical, industrial, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot effectively.
• Experience reading blueprints and drawings.
• Knowledge of single and three-phase electrical systems, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including air compressors.
• Organizational skills for parts management and documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent movement: walking, standing, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and climbing.
• Ability to work in hot environments and areas with dust while wearing PPE.
