BlueScope is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our factory team. This role is a multi-skilled position responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing process equipment and building systems under limited supervision.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and repair equipment using a range of tools and instruments. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement within a production environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• ACT WorkKeys assessment at certified job profile skill level.
• 1 year of experience in industrial maintenance; or a combination of technical school degree, craft certification, or completion of maintenance skills/craft courses and experience in industrial maintenance.
• Associates degree in Industrial Maintenance or Technical school degree (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, machinist and/or related fields (preferred).
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD (preferred).
• Proficient in reading blueprints, designing and fabricating parts (preferred).
• Experience in diagnostics and repair of PLCs and/or robotics (preferred).

Responsabilités

• Maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and optimizes equipment and building systems.
• Performs preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance actions.
• Diagnoses mechanical problems using drawings, manuals, and part catalogs.
• Repairs machines and equipment using precision instruments and testing devices.
• Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, transformers, wiring, and electronic components.
• Repairs to access/replace defective parts using hoists, cranes, and power tools.
• Supports die maintenance and troubleshooting of roll forming equipment.
• Installs, programs, and repairs automated machinery such as robots or PLCs.
• Sets up and operates machine tools to repair or fabricate parts.
• Performs housekeeping and 5-S, and other duties as assigned.
